Sunday, August 29, 2010
Farm Tour 5pm
Dinner 6pm
Woodland Farm
4801 Greenhaven Lane
Goshen, KY 40026

Join Proof on Main chef Michael Paley and Louisville chef Nancy Schoenhoff for a Summer Supper at Woodland Farm in Goshen, Kentucky. The chefs will collaborate on a dinner featuring local ingredients. Chef Michael Paley is headed for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

Kentucky Horse Park
Thursday, October 7, 2010
7pm
$300 per person

Kentucky's favorite chefs will be working side by side with the James Beard Foundation and celebrity chefs from around the United States during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which will feature eight world championships in equestrian sport at Lexington's Kentucky Horse Park from September 25 through October 10, 2010.

Cookin' in the Bluegrass: A Celebrity Chef Dinner Series, will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park's Farmhouse restaurant during the 16 nights of the 2010 Games. Each night, 80 guests will enjoy dining experiences that replicate the sumptuous dinners held at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City.

The dinner series stems from collaboration between the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, the James Beard Foundation and Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, and is sponsored by Kentucky Proud, a program of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, funded by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund.

The celebrity and Kentucky chefs will together prepare dishes reflecting their geographic region or culinary specialties, and will have the opportunity to use Kentucky-grown food products. Participation by Kentucky Proud, funded in part by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, will highlight the vitality of the farm to table movement and give visiting chefs access to fresh, locally grown food products.

Proceeds from Cookin' in the Bluegrass will benefit the James Beard Foundation, the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, and the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

In the downstairs galleries
Yoga with Art 2:30 - 4:00pm, $5
Cabaret Life Drawing 4:30 - 6:30pm, $10 ($5 students)

Cabaret Life Drawing is an evening of cabaret and life drawing at 21c Museum. It presents an array of burlesque starlets, fetish models, magicians, hula hoop artists and elaborately costumed showgirls whose performance and poses provide the basis for guests to sketch in a series of individual pencil and charcoal drawings.

Throughout the evening, performers will create and hold a series of poses ranging from 30 seconds to 15 minutes, allowing guests time to capture a quick sketch of each. Focusing on contrapposto and chiaroscuro, we will explore the weight shift of the model in the hips, shoulders, and head, as well as the distribution of light and shade for general dramatic effect.

BYOM (bring your own mat) for Yoga with Art. Flex those creative muscles as you work through a variety of ancient poses. Sessions are just $5 at the door and are led by Certified Yoga Teachers Skylar Smith, Jonathan Swanz, Teresa Phelps Martin, Marie Coma, and Susan Schroedery. Attendees should bring their own mat or towel and water and arrive early to ensure a spot because space is limited.
